David Flippo is a Christian, husband, grandfather, conservative, a combat veteran, small business owner, and financial advisor with a proven record of leadership in both military and civilian sectors. David’s work ethic began with his first job at McDonald’s, where as a teenager, he learned the importance of reliability, teamwork, and delivering results. Flippo enlisted in the United States Air Force. He finished his bachelor’s degree at Montana State University-Bozeman and became an officer, rising to the rank of Lt. Colonel. He also received a master's in public administration at Valdosta State University. Lt. Col Flippo was a combat commander in charge of over 1,000 Airmen and was responsible for establishing three operating bases inside Iraq during combat operations. 


After retiring from the Air Force, David Flippo worked for BP, developing a preventive maintenance program for their entire north slope oilfield operation and leading several maintenance teams responsible for the oil flowing through the Alaska Pipeline. 

 

Flippo transitioned into the financial services industry as a licensed financial advisor, working with families, retirees, and small business owners on retirement and investment strategies. Flippo also owns a HobbyTown retail store. His experience as a business owner provides direct insight into the challenges faced by Nevada’s entrepreneurs.  Lieutenant Colonel David Flippo and his wife, Dawn, live in Nevada, where they are active in their community.
