Congressman Brad R. Wenstrup, Col-USAR (MC) (R-OH-2), is serving in his sixth term, and is Chairman of House Select Committee on the Coronavirus Pandemic.  As Chairman of the House Select Committee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, Cong Wenstrup revealed new allegations, that Dr. Anthony Fauci influenced the CIA on origins of the Coronavirus investigation. 

Chairman Cong Brad Wenstrup, noted that the two origin theories have sharply divided Americans and said he is committed to following the science.  He also criticized Dr. Anthony Fauci, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, for pushing the health community to downplay the possibility of a lab leak.  The Wall Street Journal reported that the U.S. Department of Energy, which oversees high-security labs of its own, concluded with low confidence the virus came from a lab leak in Wuhan, China.  FBI Director Christopher Wray echoed that, saying a lab leak was "most likely" the source. 

Chairman Brad Wenstrup issued the following statement after the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced that the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) will finally no longer receive U.S. funding and is formally debarred for 10 years.

“The Wuhan Institute of Virology should not receive another cent of U.S. taxpayer funding.  After years of conducting dangerous gain-of-function research at inadequate biosafety levels, cutting off all American taxpayer dollars from the WIV is an essential and obvious step in the right direction.  This is especially timely as mounting evidence and intelligence continue to suggest that the COVID-19 pandemic originated from a laboratory failure in Wuhan.  Rewarding the likely source of a global pandemic with American resources will only lead to more future health risks.”

Cong Wenstrup has also been investigating the makeup of the gene therapy inoculations (mislabeled as vaccines), and the true origins of the virus.  He is investigating the role Communist China and Dr. Anthony Fauci played in creating the virus, and the early spread of the virus from the Wuhan Lab in Communist China that created a Pandemic that killed over 17 million people.  The background information on influencing the origins of the Wuhan Virus to mislead the American public is listed below in Cong Wenstrup’s brief biology.   

In 2012, Cong Wenstrup was the 53rd endorsed Combat Veteran For Congress elected to the US House of Representatives, and the PAC supported his five re-elections to the House.   Cong Wenstrup received a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine Degree in June 1985.  After completing his surgical residency at Thorek Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, Dr. Wenstrup returned home to Cincinnati where he maintained a private practice for 12 years. 

Col Wenstrup served in the US Army and US Army Reserves from 1998 to 2022.  During his military service, in June 2005, Maj Wenstrup deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with the US Army’s 144th Combat Support Hospital, and Task Force 344 to Abu Ghraib, Iraq.  For the next 12 months, Maj Wenstrup served as the Podiatrist, the Chief of Surgery, and the Director of the Wound Care Clinic.  Maj Wenstrup served as the assistant to the Deputy Commander, Clinical Services (DCCS), equivalent to his Chief of Staff, and served as the acting DCCS for three months during his tour.

The 344th Combat Support Hospital was responsible for Detainee Healthcare throughout the Iraqi Theater, with the heart of the mission taking place at Abu Ghraib Prison Hospital, twenty miles west of Baghdad, Iraq.  The mission also included performing operations, caring for, and saving the lives of Soldiers, Marines, and civilians.  In May 2006, at the end of his Combat Tour in Iraq, Maj Wenstrup was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Combat Action Badge, the Meritorious Unit Citation, Various Service and Campaign Medals.  

During his third term in Congress on June 14, 2017, at a Republican Congressional Baseball Team practice, Cong Steve Scalise was shot by a Democrat supporter of Senator Bernie Sanders who was trying to kill as many of the Republican Congressmen at baseball practice as possible.  Cong Scalise’s wounds were serious.  Following the shooting of Congressman Steve Scalise, Cong Wenstrup attended to Cong Scalise life threatening wounds and treated him until he was able to be transferred to an ambulance, and transported to MedStar Washington Hospital Center for emergency surgery.  For his actions during the shooting, and for saving the life of Cong Scalise, Cong Wenstrup was awarded the Soldier's Medal.

Chairman Wenstrup wrote: “According to information gathered by the Select Subcommittee, Dr. Anthony Fauci, then-director of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, played a role in the Central Intelligence Agency’s review of the origins of COVID-19.  The information provided suggests that Dr. Fauci was escorted into Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Headquarters—without a record of entry—and participated in the analysis to 'influence' the Agency’s review.  Our goal is to ensure the scientific investigative process regarding the origins of COVID-19 was fair, impartial, and free of alternative influence.”   

On September 27, 2023, the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic Chairman Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio) revealed new allegations that Dr. Fauci went to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Headquarters to “influence” its COVID-19 origins investigation.  This revelation comes on the heels of recently acquired whistleblower testimony alleging that the CIA potentially skewed its COVID-19 origins review by offering six analysts’ significant financial incentives to conclude that the result of its investigation was inconclusive.  Dr. Fauci’s questionable presence at the CIA, coupled with recently uncovered evidence that he, Dr. Fauci, “prompted” the drafting of “Proximal Origin” — the infamous paper that was used to attempt to “disprove” the lab leak theory — lends credence to heightened concerns about the promotion of a false COVID-19 origins narrative by multiple federal government agencies.

Chairman Wenstrup is seeking all documents and communications related to Dr. Fauci’s access to CIA facilities and CIA employees as it relates to these allegations.  Also, after becoming aware of additional information, the Select Subcommittee is requesting Special Agent Brett Rowland to appear for a transcribed interview regarding Dr. Fauci’s movements to and from the CIA.  As mounting evidence continues to imply that federal government officials covered-up the origins of COVID-19, investigating any improper influence will ensure future accountability of not only the intelligence community, but also public health officials.

Wenstrup Issues Statement After Wuhan Institute of Virology Formal Debarment

"Further, the Select Subcommittee recently revealed that prominent public health authorities — including Dr. Anthony Fauci — knew about the risky laboratory conditions in Wuhan prior to the spread of COVID-19 worldwide. Covering up for the failures of a Communist Chinese lab, hiding critical evidence from the American people, and facilitating the public promotion of a false, alternative narrative is extremely concerning and deserves thorough investigation. The Select Subcommittee will continue to investigate the origin of the COVID-19 pandemic and the possible cover-up by America’s public health leaders.”

Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic Chairman Wenstrup & Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman Comer Widen COVID Origins Investigation

Washington, D.C. - Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic Chairman Brad Wenstrup (R-OH) and House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-KY) are calling on the Department of Energy, the Department of State, and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) to provide information necessary to the Select Subcommittee and Oversight Committee’s investigation into COVID origins. This follows the Republican lawmakers’ previous requests to the Department of Health and Human Services, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, EcoHealth Alliance, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and Dr. Francis Collins.

As stated in the letters sent:

"The Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic is investigating the origins of COVID-19. Since April 2, 2020, Committee on Oversight and Accountability Republicans have been investigating the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic, including the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s role in obscuring the truth regarding the initial outbreak, and whether any U.S. taxpayer dollars funded the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s (WIV) dangerous gain-of-function research. The Select Subcommittee is now the only Committee in Congress with explicit jurisdiction to conduct this wide-ranging and important investigation," wrote Wenstrup and Comer.

"This investigation will be a priority for the Select Subcommittee but also the global community... 18 experts in Science magazine, ‘[k]nowing how COVID-19 emerged is critical for informing global strategies to mitigate the risk of future outbreaks.’ Further, according to the Lancet COVID-19 Commission, ‘[i]dentifying [COVID-19’s] origins would provide greater clarity into not only the causes of the current pandemic but also vulnerabilities to future outbreaks and strategies to prevent them.’ The origins of the disease that has taken the lives of more than six million people is still unknown. Uncovering the truth about the origins of COVID-19 is vital to U.S. national security, critical to the prevention of future pandemics, and will bring some semblance of closure to the families of those who lost loved ones during the pandemic," continued Wenstrup and Comer. "Your documents and testimony are essential to informing the Committee about what the U.S. government knew regarding the origins of COVID-19 and when the government knew it."
