BGen Steve E. Stivers, USANG (R-OH-15) is a fiscally conservative candidate who will rein in the out of control spending by the Pelosi Congress.  BGen Stivers is running in the 5th Congressional District of Ohio against Congresswoman Mary Jo Kilroy, Kilroy votes with Pelosi lock step.  BGen Stivers ran for Congress in 2008 and lost by 2311 votes to Cong Kilroy in the Obama landslide.

BGen Stivers was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army National Guard. By September 2004, he rose to Battalion Commander of the 237th Personnel Service Battalion, and his command was called to active duty to support Operation Iraqi Freedom.  He was a sitting Ohio State Senator (2003-2008) at the time the battalion was activated, and under Ohio Law, Legislators are entitled to a deferment.  BGen Stivers didn't consider asking for a deferment and served in Kuwait, Iraq, Oman, and Djibouti; he was awarded a Bronze Star Medal for his service in combat.  He was recently selected for the Army War College Distance Learning Course.
BGen Stivers holds an MBA from Ohio State University and is currently a business consultant working to help companies stay in business, improve operations, and create jobs in this ever-changing economy.  BGen Stivers and his wife recently celebrated the birth of a daughter Sarah, their first child.
