The Combat Veterans For Congress PAC is endorsing a candidate that was previously endorsed in the 2010 mid-term election, he is therefore one of 51 Combat Veterans For Congress of record who have been endorsed over the last three years. Lt Col Rick Tubbs, USAFR http://www.ricktubbsforcongress.com resides in Vacaville, CA and is a candidate for Congress in the newly created 3rd Congressional District of California. He has served in the US Air Force and the US Air Force Reserve from 1989 to present, a period of 22 years. He will be running against lifelong politician, Cong John Garamendi. Cong Garamendi is the poster child for what is wrong in Washington, DC; he is an ally of Nancy Pelosi and has been promoting the Obama Administration policies, including sponsoring the Administrations new $450 billion Stimulus Bill that will increase taxes by $1.4 trillion over the next 10 years, he supports the Cap and Trade Bill, was one of the deciding votes for the flawed Obama Health Care Bill, and voted for the Finance Reform Act that has virtually closed down all bank lending. Col Tubbs is running to rein in the out of control spending by the Obama Administration and will support efforts to pass the Balanced Budget Amendment, and implement a zero-based budget process for all spending requests. He also seeks to maintain a strong and enduring national defense, grow jobs by reducing government tax & regulations that burden job creators, repeal the flawed Obama Health Care Bill, and promote a government that adheres to the precepts of the US Constitution.

Rick was born on July 4, 1967, and was raised in the rural, one stop-sign town of North Lake, Wisconsin; he was the son of a single mother surviving on welfare. Rick began working at age 11, and dreamed of becoming an astronaut. In June 1985, he graduated from Arrowhead High School with honors, and received an Academic Military Scholarship to attend college. He attended California State University in Fresno, earning a BA in Mathematics in May 1989. Rick Tubbs received his commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force as a Distinguished Graduate of the Air Force ROTC program at Cal State Fresno on May 26, 1989. He graduated from flight training and was assigned to Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, where he spent 5 years as a T-38 instructor pilot working with NATO allies until transferred to Travis AFB, CA in 1995. Captain Tubbs flew around the globe as an Aircraft Commander of the free world’s largest Strategic airlift asset, the C-5, leaving active duty for assignment in the USAF Reserve in 1998. Major Tubbs was activated for Operation Iraqi Freedom in February 2003; in 2005, his reserve unit was converted to the world’s most modern Strategic Airlift Aircraft, the C-17, and Major Tubbs flew hundreds of combat hours on over 50 combat missions into Iraq and Afghanistan supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. He was promoted to Lt. Col. on October 1, 2008 and finished his full-time commitment to the US Air Force Reserves in September 2009; today he is the Squadron Commander of the 301AS Squadron at Travis AFB, CA and is still flying C-17s. Col Tubbs was awarded two Air Medals and one Aerial Achievement Medal for Combat and Combat Support missions flown in war zones and was also awarded numerous service and campaign medals.

Rick Tubbs was hired as a pilot with United Airlines in 1999, and started a property development and management company in 2001. In September 2009 he began his first campaign for the United States Congress; he gained great support and was strongly encouraged to run again in 2012. He is a member of the Reserve Officer’s Association, the VFW, the NRA, the Airline Pilots’ Association, and the church he and his family attend is The Father’s House in Vacaville, CA. He has been endorsed by Warriors for Congress, BGen Robert W. Marcott, USAF (Ret), Suisun City Vice-Mayor and Councilman Mike Hudson, and many others. Rick is a member of the VFW, the Reserve Officer’s Association (ROA), NRA, the Farm Bureau Association, the Airline Pilots Association (ALPA), Solano and Contra Costa Republican Central Committee, Solano Republican Women’s Federated, the American Center for Law Justice (ACLJ), the Smithsonian Institution, and Monterey Bay Conservation Society. Rick and his wife, Kristy, have been married for over 22 years; they are the proud parents of Holly age 17, Luke age 15, and Audrey age 13.

If you review Col Tubbs positions on his Web site, you would be pleased with his stances; they agree with the Combat Veterans For Congress Mission Statement. The Combat Veterans For Congress PAC looks forward to working with Col Rick Tubbs, USAFR, and we are pleased that a Combat Veteran of his caliber is running for Congress. If you have friends, associates, or relatives who know voters in California, kindly pass this E-mail on to them, and ask them to support Col Tubbs by working in his campaign organization, by providing financial support for his campaign in any amount, and/or by networking with others who would be willing to support his run for Congress.  We have endorsed another Combat Veteran For Congress that General George Washington would have approved of.  A Veteran is someone who, at one point of his life, wrote a blank check made payable to “The United States American” for an amount “up to and including his life.”
