Capt. Adam Kinzinger, AFNG (R-IL-11) of Manteno, IL and has served in the Air Force Special Operations, Air Combat Command, Air Mobility Command, and the Air National Guard. He is running against Cong Debbie Halvorson (D-IL-11) who votes in lock step with Pelosi. Adam was born in Kankakee but spent most of his childhood in Bloomington, where he currently resides. Adam earned a bachelors degree from Illinois State University in 2000. At age 20 Adam became one of the youngest candidates to be elected to a seat on the McLean County Board; he was reelected to a second term in 2002.
In 2003, Adam joined the US Air Force, and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in November 2003; he earned his pilot wings in 2005. In 2007, he received the US Air Force Airman’s Medal for saving the life of a young woman who was viciously attacked. Despite the likelihood that he too would be stabbed, Adam wrestled the knife away from the attacker and pinned him to the ground until the police arrived. Capt Kinzinger’s Combat tours in Afghanistan were from March to April 2006, and September 2007; combat tours in Iraq were March–April 2007, March-June 2008, and February–May 2009. Capt Kinzinger’s was awarded 6 Air Medals for 120 Combat Missions and other theatre medals. The military is one of the few remaining institutions producing the caliber of men and women needed to restore this nation to the greatness our Founding Fathers envisioned.
